Overview of Lasik Surgery

Ophthalmology PA is proud to offer Lasik surgery at our on-site surgery center, McCannel Eye Surgery LLC. 

Todd Zwickey, M. D., our Corneal Specialist has been performing lasik surgery since 1994 and has performed over  5,000 procedures.

With the massive media advertising, billboards and newspaper ads, it can be easy to forget that Lasik is a surgical procedure which requires the skill and training of a well-trained medical doctor.  Dr. Zwickey is not only a Board-Certified medical doctor and Ophthalmologist, he also has obtained a Fellowship in treatment of the cornea - a subspecialty of Ophthalmology.

Unlike most of the Lasik programs in the Twin Cities, at Ophthalmology PA, you always and only see the surgeon through each step of the process. Every step of the procedure, from the initial consultation and testing, surgery, and post-operative care are managed by Dr. Zwickey.  This gives our patients continuity of treatment throughout their entire experience.

Fee and Scheduling

We offer Custom Lasik surgery at $4000 for both eyes and Regular Lasik surgery for $3700 for both eyes.  We do not do trendy pricing or offer short-cut,  lower cost treatments. The integrity and success of our program has grown out of professional medical counseling and treatment and from the satisfaction of our patients with the process and its results.  

You will be scheduled for an initial consultation at a cost of $100.  This fee will be fully refunded if you are found to NOT be a candidate for surgery.  If you are a candidate, the amount will simply be applied to the total surgical package price.  At the consultation visit with Dr. Zwickey, many tests and measurements will be performed to make sure you are a good candidate for Lasik.  All facets of the surgery will be thoroughly explained and the surgery can be booked at the completion of the visit.   Dependent on how long you must stay out of your contact lenses, most cases can be completed within the month.
